Beth O’Rourke is an award-winning creative director, documentary filmmaker, writer and illustrator who has over twenty of years experience developing and producing original experiences, content and campaigns for global brands such as Mozilla, Levi’s, Yahoo, Visa, The Body Shop, Revlon, Cibavision, Bare Escentuals, Logitech, Herman Miller and Citrix. As a leader in integrated creative strategy, brand and team building, she's successfully applied her skills in many business settings ranging from lean technology start-ups to global advertising agencies.
Her latest project, SeaLevelTV, was founded with the aim of producing original, short format documentary films that reach past the hype, into the tribal, hidden corners of ocean-centric-culture.
In the first year of business, SeaLevelTV garnered official selections from the Hawaii International Film Festival, Lisbon Surf Film Festival, San Diego Surf Film Festival, Cucalorous International Film Festival, Save the Waves Film Festival and the San Francisco Green Film Festival. Thematically, a good portion of SeaLevel’s work focuses on environmental awareness, stewardship, and protection of our environment and it’s precious natural resources.
Beth has been a lifelong competitive athlete in distance running, and professional mountain biking and surfing. Currently she is Team Captain and board member of Malibu Surfing Association and was awarded MVP this past year. When she’s not reading, writing, or researching new story ideas, Beth can be found in her old Volkswagen camper van, prowling the coast looking for empty left-handers with her nineteen year old cattle dog and thirteen year old son, Jack. You also may find her swimming in the ocean with her water camera and contributing to The Inertia.
