Challenge
Carve Designs needed authentic surf and adventure content featuring athlete Ming Hui to connect with their core audience of female outdoor athletes. A last-minute wardrobe complication the night before shoot required rapid problem-solving to maintain the production schedule and creative vision.

Approach
Led full production from pre-production through shoot, including location scouting across multiple surf breaks (El Paredon, Burros, La Lancha, Bahia), wardrobe coordination, equipment planning, and budget management. Coordinated with local surf guides and location experts to identify optimal shooting conditions and authentic cultural touchpoints, including indigenous communities and remote coastal locations accessible only by boat.

Execution
Directed multi-camera production utilizing Canon C100 cinema camera, Canon 7D Mark II, and specialized surf gear, including AxisGo Pro housing for water photography. Managed a comprehensive equipment package, including gimbal stabilization, wireless audio, and a 400mm telephoto for lineup shooting. Delivered video and photo assets optimized for social and digital platforms despite day-one production obstacles.
